Default What is the future of dynamics

I am seeing CMPS becoming a standard with VB while dynamics steering away.

With 50X people online viewing the CMPS forum versus dyna, I would bet Brain is focusing is time in that ratio also.

If you're basing your theory just on the number of people viewing forums then you're not taking anywhere near enough factors into account. Of course there's always going to be more people viewing the CMPS forums. The product has been around for nearly 4 years now and it's free. vBa Dynamics was just released 6 months ago, so it hasn't been around nearly as long and it's a paid product. Since the time it was released though it's been our top selling product each month. vBa Dynamics is also much more complex, so I think it's pretty safe to say that more time has already gone into the development for it than the CMPS over the years.

Brian,

I completely agree with you on the past but I am looking at the future of dynamics.

You have created a wonderful product with only major draw back that it doesn't integrate/take advantage of 100's of mods available for regular vb. For example, there is powerful mod released for advanced rating "thumbs up/down" similar to youtube -http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=170419
However dynamics users will be left out. There is no basic know-how on how to integrate.

Basic functionality of vb such as "similar threads" and "points" is missing which makes it difficult to build our forums.

I spent $400 so far to create a points system but no one could succeed as they mention dynamics is different from VB to integrate. Hoping for my current programmer to do it.

I think maybe you should go to vbmagic.com. Their product automatically configures to all of your wishes and desires.

Seriously, I would like to have a points system too. But in the scheme of Vbadvanced development, that is obviously not going to be a priority as it's only a need for a few people. And where would development on that start anyway? With vbcredits - which hardly even works at all as it is anyway?

I just implemented a vbadvanced instance for another classifieds section and it has gotten over 400 entries in the first week. The users universally prefer it to the photopost classifieds it replaced - and vbadvanced isn't even made for that specific task. Solid version 1.0 IMO.

Are you refering to some other site??

BTW, THere were more than 11 requests for points system more than any other feature requested so far.

Thanks
