Default Recent threads NEED HELP ASAP please.

Hi all im new with this and have been ripping my hair out!!!.

I need to know if there is a mod, or something that I can do to the recent threads module.

I need to show the top stocks of the day, but I can't select catagories so I get a bunch of threads that don't explain where its coming from.

Hat I mean by this is Lets say I have a category called "Green Stocks"

The tickers (threads) are actually a stock board.

So on recent mod, I need it to show up as

Green Stocks ------------------------------ 45 (posts)

Is there a way to do this? Not by threads, but pulling from categoy only?

thank You
