There are no real differences in features between the latest vB3 and vB4 versions available. All of the changes in v4.1.1 were made for vB4 compatibility.

Does this version work with 3.8 versions or is the 4.x version mandatory?

So the natural deduction is, turn the links directory off, upgrade vBulletin, then upgrade the links directory.

If you want to upgrade to vB4, then yes, those are the steps you would take.

I have been looking for the same module you have here to show who is online to place on my website. That is the only item I want. I sure could use your help in being able to get one, and the codes to enter. Thank You so much.

All of the modules that come with any of the vBa products were written by vBa for use with vBa apps. You can likely find functionality to mimic the Who's Online module at sites like vBulletin.org.
