Default Custom Field Creation?

I've recently installed the vB4 Publishing Suite/CMS and I'm not too impressed so far.

I need to create specific layouts with searchable content for each specific field. Is this possible in the vBA CMS?

Can I create pages that can be used as product pages? For example, I need to build a DVD releases database with cover art, synopsis, special features and links to amazon UK and US. Is this possible?

What I would then like to do is rather than adding DVD release info to the forum, add it to the cms and promote it to the forum's relevant section.

I would also like users to be able to catalogue their DVD collection by selecting the titles they currently own. The list could then be viewed by other members from their profile page or signature etc. A "collection" add-on of some sort.

Any suggestions? Or is there an add-on that will allow this?

Here's an example of the sort of product page I'd like to be able to create in the CMS, but I'd like to be able to promote these items to the forum too, as news items etc. Also I'd like the option to be able to promote to the home page when newly added.

vBa CMPS probably isn't going to help much with that, but it sounds like vBa Dynamics could.

Sounds interesting but can anybody give me any idea of how long iot would take to install and configure?

Here'a couple of example pages of what I need it to do:

CMS Search Page | CMS Search Results page | CMS Item page

The configuration shouldn't take long as it's mostly just a matter of setting up categories and custom fields, then submitting the products just like you would submit a thread in vB.

There are a couple of things I may have read over too quickly though...

vBa Dynamics allows you to submit the entry in a different area, but it stays within the vBa Dynamics category and there is no way to "promote" or assoicate it with a forum or thread.

Your members could use the "favorites" system to mark items they own, but members can only see their own favorites list by default. It probably wouldn't be that hard to create a section showing a member's favorites to other members if you're familiar with PHP, but there's nothing like that by default.
