Question Need a little help/advice please...

I have not been around for a long time due to medical issues. But now I am starting another site with my vb suite I purchased a couple years ago. But since Brian has not yet updated the CMPS for vb4.2 I was hoping someone could answer a question about it as well as a few more. So, here goes....

1. I have not yet installed any version of the vb suite yet so what is the latest version of the vb suite that works with the current CMPS that doesn't require a bunch or any edits until Brian gets it updated to work with vb 4.2?

2. I also have Links Directory and Dynamics so which vb suite do they currently work with?

The next 2 questions are me just looking for advice...

3. I like Brians CMPS so intend to use it over vb's but which would be better to use for articles, Dynamics or vb's CMS?

4. What would you use vb's cms for or would you just disable it?

5. Which is the best way to install the vb suite; make a folder on your server and call it forums installing it into there or just installing directly into the public_html folder? Just curious which way is best.

I appreciate and and all help/advice anyone can give me on these questions.

Thanks,
Kimberly

1. vB 4.2 works just fine , you only have to create the NavBar links using the new NavBar Manager
2. Same as #1
3. I only use CMPS, so I cannot compare it to Dynamics
4. Disable it, it sucks compared to CMPS
5. I would put it in a subfolder, so that if you ever decide to change your site around or add other sections, you will not have to install it all into the forums folders

Great, thank you Dragonsys!

On #5 the way you suggested is the way I have always done it but I was reading somewhere that with vb 4.2 is was better to have everything in one folder, something to do with the links. But that didn't make sense to me, I like to have everything in it's own folder.

And on #1 I haven't even installed vb 4.2 yet so I hope you are around if I have any questions on using the navbar manager to create my CMPS links.

Thanks again, I appreciate the help...
Kimberly

That is because the NavBar Manager doesn't handle other folders well. But they are talking about all the vBulletin components (things which would use the vB NavBar), such as CMS, Blogs & Forums
