Code for simple breadcrumb module

I need to create a module that is a single-line breadcrumb of the navigation in CMPS. (It wll be at the top-center position)

I'm using the following and it's not working: (found in another thread)

Code:

<a href="$vboptions[forumhome].php?$session[sessionurl]">Visions Fantastic</a></strong> $navbits[breadcrumb] &gt; $navbits[lastelement]

Perhaps the code is right but it's not being implemented correctly? Any ideas? I'm still so new at all of this...
