Hi all,
modules has to be chmod 777 for the install. Does it have to stay on those permissions? When is it used again after the initial install? I am paranoid about leaving permissions open like this and would appreciate advice on how to lock this down while still being usable. (If that means I have to chmod before doing certain functions, then lock down again, I'm ok with that). |

The only time that folder needs to be writable is when uploading files through the 'Upload / Download Module' admin cp link. So it's fine to change the permissions, and only chmod it to 777 when uploading modules.
