Default Navbar pull-down menus not enabled?

Hi -

Just updated my forum to 4.2.0 PL1. Already on 4.2.0 VBadvanced CMPS. On my vbadvanced page, the second row of navbar pulldown menus:

(New Posts Private Messages FAQ Calendar Community Forum Actions Quick Links)

isn't showing up. It shows up fine on my forum page. Am I missing something obvious?

Thx for any guidance.

OK - found some links here that describe the problem, but haven't landed on a successful solution yet. I found this thread that includes this code for adv_portal_navtab, but adding that to my template still changed nothing on the portal page.

On vBulletin 4.2 you have to use the Navigation Manager to add those sublinks. Unfortunately there is not a way to just copy them from the Forums tab, so you will have to manually add each one to the CMPS tab.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried playing with the navigation manager, and feel a bit slow. I can add/disable tabs, and that's working just fine on both the cmps page and the forums page. But adding menus/links doesn't seem to be working anywhere, even when enabled/disabled. Is there a quick tutorial somewhere, or could you post up here just one example of one menu and one link and how you got it working on the cmps page?

OK - posted too quickly. I'm getting it, and it's now working. Needed to make the Portal page the parent tab, leave vbulletin as the product. Seems terribly clunky to have to recreate all of this from scratch. I wonder if it's worth coming up with a script to duplicate the stock menus onto the CMPS page, as I imagine this a pretty common issue people are dealing with.

The CMPS has not had that same row of sub-navigation links as the forum pages since vB4. The navbar was completely redone in vB4 and vB never created an easy way to include those same links on multiple tabs.

You can use this addon (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=283123) and it will allow you to assign multiple Parent Tabs to the sublinks, which should get these on the CMPS pages as well

That plugin is great and all but it doesnt seem to be able to add the sub menu items to the cmps page.
i have created a new "home" menu item and assignewd it as vbadvanced as the product but when i click to add the home as an additional parent it does nothing

odd.

!@#&*(!*@&(!. I seem to have broken it again. I upgraded to 4.2.1, and I'm having the same issue again. The Navigation Manager still has all of the menus correctly shown in the admincp, still pointing to the Portal page. It looks like nothing has changed there.

But, when I go to the portal page, there are no menus. Also, when I click on the Portal page tab, while it goes to the right page, it doesn't stay selected (white) when I'm on that page, like it does on the Forums page. (and like I think it used to). It appears that it doesn't know that it's on the Portal page, so it doesn't keep it selected, and doesn't show the menus.

I've made zero changes to my cmps_index page, it still has the same out of the box:
define('THIS_SCRIPT', 'adv_index');
define('VBA_PORTAL', true);
define('VBA_SCRIPT', 'CMPS');
Where else should I check, before attempting to revert to 4.2.0?
