Default Add 'Featured Blogs' to the VBA CMPS News Module

I've done a bit of searching around and I can not seem to find any way to make this happen. I am using vba cmps as my portal (obviously) and I have the News Module set to show posts from a forum thread that I set up specifically for announcements. What I would like to have happen is the news module also detect and show specific blog posts. I thought that perhaps the easiest way to do this would be to have the news module pick up featured blogs. However, if that isn't possible having it pick up blog posts from a specific user or usergroup would accomplish the goal also.

Or if there is any other, easier way to make this happen, that would be fine. I simply want for the news module to include posts from the forum that I have selected and a particular blog from our forums.
