Images on News not showing up

The images in the News blocks will not display, but rather the link and link image are displayed instead. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Images are "enabled" by the way

Also, I am logged in as an administrator, so it does not seem to be a permissons problem.

make sure everyone including non registered visitors have the permissions to view attatchments. I am not logged in and when I click it it asks me to log in so it is a permissions thing.

I enabled attachment download for unregistered users, so you can see it here:

try using the link of the image and insert image when posting a thread instead of using an attacthment.

Try looking in your forum/modules/news.php file for this:

PHP Code:

thumbnail, LENGTH(thumbnail) 


Replace with:

PHP Code:

IF(thumbnail_filesize > 0, 1, 0) AS hasthumbnail, thumbnail, LENGTH(thumbnail) 


The find:

PHP Code:

$news['thumbnail'] 


Replace with this:

PHP Code:

$news['hasthumbnail'] 


And that should take care of the problem.

I just replaced the code Brian, but I get this error message:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /var/www/html/vb3/modules/news.php on line 151

I did it twice, so I know I cut and pasted correctly.

The 2nd replacement shouldn't be on line 151. And as long as you modified the code correctly it would not give you that error...

How would one go about allowing non-registered users to view images?
