Default Current Poll options

I have the random poll selected, but would like the ability to select if I want to remove the following from random consideration:

1] Closed Polls
2] Polls that started x days ago (x would be a number of the user's choosing)

I am having issues with polls over a year old showing up on the home page currently and feel this would avoid that.

I'd like to bump this and make an addition:

3] Polls in restricted forums

I've found that my users are seeing polls in forums which they do not have permission to view.

1). Currently there is not an option to change that.
2 & 3) There are options for these when you edit the poll module if you're running v2.1.
