I'm about to install CMPS for my vB forum. My forum is in the root directory of my web server. I have read several threads where people have had a ton of problems installing CMPS with vB in the root. Is there anything I should do before hand to prevent problems? I would like to keep vB in the root but I I'm going to have to move it anyway I'd like to do it before I try installing CMPS.
Also I don't understand what "Now you will need to chmod the /forums/modules folder to 777" means in the installation readme. Can some one enlighten me? thanks in advance jawinn |

Jawinn,
For where you'll be installing vB in the root versus the forums, it shouldn't matter. Have you read this thread yet? For the chmod, that just means that after you upload the /modules folders (that is inside of the vBa CMPS package) you need to change the permissions of the folder to 777. If you're not familiar with the CHMOD command, or don't have access to your server's shell, most FTP programs allow you to issue the CHMOD command as well. |

You'll want to...
1) Install vBulletin 2) Install vBadvanced CMPS 3) Do the file name changes |
