Have you looked at GARS (thevbgeek.com).

There is a module for that, however it doesn't seem to want to work with CMPS 2.1.

That is what the GARS package will do, it just formats it a little nicer for articles.

I believe that Tom M has updated his CMPS articles module for CMPS 2.x as well. Search the forums here for it.

I am trying to do this with GARS so the article have icons and look decent, not just a list. I can use news or latesttopics modules if I just want a plain list.

The second one doesn't import, I get the same error message. Either there is something wrong with my CMPS install, or 2.1 will NOT import that file.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Slider, Trana:

Try this one instead....

http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?p=77385 (go to post #243)

Looks like TomM released his 3.5 version of his Articles module but unofficially so it's buried inside of another thread.

Kevin,

That was actually suggested in another thread. The problem (as I see it) is that 2.1 will not import ANY .module file. I haven't tried it, but someone else said that they couldn't even import the generic included modules, you basically just get the error message

The file selected is not a valid module file.

Trana, did you verify that your /modules folder has permissions to allow file uploads to it? Try setting it to 777 and then uploading the ".module" through the ACP.

Kevin,

That was the problem! Thanks!

Unfortunately the module is rubbish and no different than the latest posts or news module (no thumbnails).

If you don't have thumbnails being displayed it may be caused by not having vb set up properly to display them or it's a permissions problem.

I re-installed this module and noticed that I get the attached error at the end of the import process. The screen immediately jumps to the CMPS config menu so it was really hard to capture.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Thanks!
