Hi I'm interested in this script but I have some questions:
1) Is this a server intensive script or is it coded to be as effecient as possible? Does it add much load to a server? How does it compare to other 'directory' scripts? 2) Is it possible to add custom fields (eg location) and allow users to search by these fields? 3) Is it possible to charge people to add a link? And time-frame it so the system sends out a reminder just before the year is up? 4) Is it possible to have different types of submitter? With additional fields for some? EG paid advertiser can also add telephone number etc. 1 + 2 are a must for me, but I could live without 3 (as I guess it could be done through vB usergroups) and 4, although it would be a very useful addition to integrate so non-renewed links automatically be removed and paid advertiser have more benefits. Thanks. Last edited by Raze; 02-27-2006 at 03:06 PM. |

1). The script should not be very server intensive at all. Nothing is ever as effecient as possible, but you shouldn't have any problems with server loads.
2). Yes. 3). You could set something up with your paid subscriptions and usergroups, but that would allow the user to submit as many links as they wanted once they have made the payment. You can set things up to moderate links as well though, so that may be useful for what you're trying to do. 4). Currently there are no options for something like that. |

Thanks Brian.
Just to clarify, is it Yes and Yes for number 2? (search by custom fields too) Also, do you think a future release is likely to have numbers 3 + 4? Thanks. |
