news and recent threads modules failed

It is weird ... after i set it the modules recent threads to inactive and reactivate it ... it just refused to work.

news module did not work from beginning at all ...

Anything which i need to watch out?

It is lost somewhere ... does not list out on my index page anymore.
anyone can help???

for some reasons, you have to disable all the modules and reenabled it again for it to work ...

also if you would like to use the news module ... news archieve module must be enabled too

There's no reason you'd have to disable them, or that the news archive module has to be active in order for the news to work.
