http://www.concoursowners.net/cmps_index.php

The forumpath appears to be correctly in cmps_index.php. Running it in Firefox, I get the error register.php not found. IE just says page not found.

Ah ha! If I login as the admin, it works, but if I try to register a new user, or login as a user I created before installing the portal, I get errors. Trying to register, it tell me register.php not found. Trying to login as any user other than the admin, I get login not found.

Hmmmm. I have 2 login areas on my portal page. The login area above the navbar (right side) gives me the errors. The login in the center frame appears to work.

How do I clean up this mess?

Looks like something weird with your Navbar Replacements setting.

http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18042

Follow the steps there and it should take care of the problem.

usercp.php
register.php
faq.php
calendar.php
search.php
login.php
forumdisplay.php
profile.php
private.php
subscription.php
member.php

Go back and try saving your settings, as that will update the settings cache for you. That's what you should have for the setting and everything else seems fine, so the cache should be the only other possibility.

Ok, that apparently did it, plus I made sure my cache and cookies were removed from my browser. But I still have the login prompt in 2 places. How can I drop the one above the NavBar? http://www.concoursowners.net/cmps_index.php

Sorry to ask these questions. Can you tell I'm new at this?

OK, Brian, I found the problem. IBK - idiot behind keyboard - I forgot to put the full URL to cmps_index.php. Problem solved!!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
