Default Can vba Links be modified to look like a Yahoo director?

Similar to this:
http://www.esyndicat.com/demo/

With 2 columns and subcats showing up below the top cats? We've got a client that is looking for a paid inclusion solution that looks similar to a Yahoo directory. Just wondering if vba Links can be that solution without redeveloping the script.

It could be made to look more like that, though would require a significant amount of template modifications.

Could I use this hack as a starting point:

Would it work in vba?

This feature is in the latest version, you do not need to install
hacks to implement that

It's in the latest version of vba links? Why wouldn't Brian have mentioned that in his reply?

Okay, sorry for being unprecise.

Brian replied, that in order to look like the yahoo-like site you mentioned, it would require a lot a template modifacations.

Then, afterwards, you asked if you could start with a columns hack as a starting point. Still, that´s not necessary because version 2.1 has the column feature implemented, so hack is already "installed".

under construction, but you'll get the idea. The only change I did in that page from the latest version was to add images.

Ahhh, gotcha. The columns are installed, now all I have to do is hack it up to show subcats underneath, etc. Thanks!

So I have the latest version downloaded and am working with it on a dev server. I can't find where the columns option is. How do I turn on that feature? I don't see anything in the settings.

Okay, I have that set to '2' but only one column is showing. At what point should the second column show up? I tried upping that number to '4' but it doesn't add any columns. Am I missing a setting change? How is Lionel getting his main categories to show up in 2 columns:

Sounds like you've either modified the 'adv_links_categorybit_level1' template and did not revert it after you upgraded, or some of the files on your server did not get overwritten when you uploaded the new ones.

I'm running 2.0.1 - isn't that the latest version? I've reuploaded the files and reverted the template you specified. No changes occurred. I'm still only showing one column. Anything else I could look for?

Actually, it should have been the 'adv_links_categorybit_level2' template that would need to be reverted. Sorry for mixing those up. If that doesn't help, please submit a support ticket via the Members' Area here and I'll take a look at things for you.

I've tried reverting that template too. Can you confirm that 2.0.1 is the latest version? I saw someone mention "2.1" above.

This is a new installation that I'm running on a local development server so I'll have to wait until I can get it online to have someone look at it. I'm hoping I can get some more tips on what else to look for.

Can someone post the code that's in the 'adv_links_categorybit_level2' template that would make multiple columns show up. I need to verify that I have the latest version. I just tried downloading again and reuploaded all the files, ran the upgrade script and it said I'm running the latest version. But for some reason I still can't get this to work. Are you guys sure there isn't something else I need to change?

I guess the fastest way to get it work would be to make a support ticket, as Brian suggested. I am sure it works when Brian has had a chance to look at it.
