I think the Problems are one of the following :

.htaccess Rule
vBSEO

or any other Product.

To clarify my experience:

The upgrade went well with no problems once I'd read and understood the new features.

What foxed me to start with was that I had to revert the vbulletin file changes from every other VBA CMPS version now this is a pure product (which I have to say I am impressed & chuffed about! )
and also - because I wrap CMPS around all pages on my site but also use mod_rewrite to make prettier urls than showthread, etc I had to use the THIS_SCRIPT option for Integration. Again, the fact that the option was already there I am thoroughly pleased by.

With the "extra columns" option and rearranging modules on a perpage basis I kinda fell a bit stingy that Brian's kept this free and I've not found the paypal donate button yet!

I have no idea. Perhaps a problem with your FTP program not overwriting some files? The columns from that error message were removed in v3.0 though and do not appear anywhere within the v3.0 files, so having an old admin file on your server after upgrading is the only way you would get that error.

my forums/index.php is now gone.... actually, its there, but for some reason it wont display. everything else works, just no forums/index.php

i started a topic in the troubleshooting forum, just thought i would report my findings here for the folks that are considering the upgrade.

Brian,

Can you give us a list of files that are safe to remove that existed in previous installations? Your first post mentioned latesttopics.php has been renamed to recenttopics.php. I think you meant to say recentthreads.php.

I think it's safe to remove:
  • latesttopics.php
  • adminfunctions_vba_cmps.php
Thanks.

Thanks.
Yes, those are the 2 files from v2.x that are no longer used and can be removed. And yes, the original post should have said recenthreads.php instead of recenttopics.php. Thanks for pointing that out.

I'm going to get the brand free, can I add vba now and later when I get the brandfree, just remove the link then ?
Will I have to re-install another version of vba ?

thanks

Yes, the link can be removed at any time without needing to reinstall or anything like that.
