Default Adding Variables to Template

Hi,

I'm trying to add the side blocks such as "Site Navigation", "Online Users", etc. to the left of my site's template, and want them to display sitewide.

I tried adding the $home[leftblocks] code to my template, but it only appears on vBadanced pages and not sitewide. For example, it displays in the left area here: http://www.starcraft2.net/cmps_index.php but not on the main page here: http://www.starcraft2.net/index.php

My goal/hope is to have vBadvanced's side panels sitewide. Is this possible?

Thanks!

Ugh.. spent 2 mind-numbing hours on this... frustrating..

It would be 100x easier if $home[leftblocks] just worked.. I wonder why it works in the vBadvanced templates but can't be called anywhere else..

Well, after 3 hours of searching through countless forums, I couldn't find an answer, so I played around with the code myself, and voila, I've done it

Uhhh... Click the "Integration" link in the Admin CP. That's exactly what that link is for.

Brian, I did click that and followed several step-by-step guides and so forth...

I'm trying to move the left blocks anywhere I want to, not just within the scope of the vBadvanced template but within my own template... is there something simple I'm missing?

You cannot place the modules outside of the adv_portal template...

Ah, that's what I thought. It's okay though, as I found a loophole around that, as you can see

Hi,

I have a module that I don't want on the left, right or center column. I want to put it somewhere else in adv_portal.

Is it possible to call a specific module (id 82 in my case) and make it appear where I want in adv_portal?

Admin CP => vBa CMPS => Default Settings => Main Options => Location List

Your best bet would be to add a new location to that setting, and then update your 'adv_portal' template to add the code for your new location. That location can be placed anywhere in your 'adv_portal' template, and thus, so can a module.

Great! I never saw that feature before! Thanks Brian!
