Question XHTML Validity

I'm having some validity issues with w3. Specifically with the read more link....is this something i did, and can i fix it?

hmmm...very wierd...it kinda happened when i had set a character limit to 200 and the next word of the last word allowed was a link, once i extended my character limit, the error went away....

ie. Please click here to see the rest of this article (if the word "here" was the link, but the character limit was cut off at the word "click" - making the word "here" not show up the "read more" link would give me an xhtml error)
