It's really just a matter of where do you want the CMPS portal page to be.
Typically if you have vBulletin in a /forum sub-folder than CMPS goes in the root folder as index.php so that your visitors to your main URL will see the CMPS portal page first but really it depends on what your own goals are in regards to using CMPS. |

It shouldn't really make much of a difference either way.

I have this setup
forum is in public_html/forum. I need the vBadvanced in lets say public_html/vba/ (for a clean root directory), but I want it accesed from mydomain.com. Is this possible? To be in a different directory than forum. And what will happen when I upgrade vBulletin? I will have to move the VBA files to the new forum directory... (part of the standard upgrade procedure) Last edited by diosrl; 03-03-2008 at 02:21 PM. |

If you really want to place the CMPS file in a /vba/ folder then you could do that and then use a .htaccess file to redirect users to that file. I don't think there would be much of a point in that though as the front end of the CMPS only requires one file (cmps_index.php, usually renamed to index.php) and the rest of the files have to be uploaded to the same folder you've installed vBulletin in.
You should not have to move or otherwise alter any vBadvanced files when upgrading your forum, except for major vB upgrades, in which case you may need to also upgrade your CMPS to the latest version. |

Yeah, I already figured it out and I installed in the /forum/ directory. Unfortunately my setup is wiht subdomains, and i have some cookie problems now
I think I solved that too in AdminCP for vbulletin, choosing other setting than BLANK. Very nice software you have here, by the way!
