Default replacing hp with CMPS

I need some help. I know below is how to replace my current forum homepage with CMPS, but the first step renaming my vbulletin index.php file?? where do i go to do this??? Im just having trouble figuring out where do do all this, does this mean on the server where the files are at or somewhere on the vbulletin admin cp??

To replace your current forum's homepage with the CMPS:

Rename your vBulletin index.php file to something like forums.php, forum.php, or ANYTHING.php.
Rename your cmps_index.php file to index.php.
Login to your vBulletin Admin CP and go to vBulletin Options => Forums Home Page Options => Script Name for Forum Home Page. Change this setting to match what you just renamed your vBulletin index file to (do NOT include the .php extension though as it is not necessary) and save your settings.
Still in your Admin CP, navigate to vBa CMPS => Default Settings => Main Options => CMPS URL. Change this setting to "/index.php" (without the quotes).

OK UPDATE:

i figured out how to do the steps to do this.. but its not the right homepage showing up, and when u click on forums its taking you just to the forums not the page I made (with nav bar, calendar, birthdays ect.) ??? How do I get those pages to show up

Well I switched it back "pre-messing" with this because my board was down and I cant have it like that until someone answers me.

-------------------I think what I did was when I made my homepage I wasnt sure how so I added a new page and did it that way, here is the address to the homepage
Code:
http://www.teachmetheway.com/cmps_index.php?pg=forums
so how would I go about making that the page that you get when you type in www.teachmetheway.com ? because its still going straight to the forums which is
Code:
http://www.teachmetheway.com/index.php
-------------

Hi Brenda,

I'll try to help you out.
  • You will need FTP access to your server (or the file manager in your hosting control panel (not the vb admin control panel)).
  • Once you have logged in to your server find the file /index.php (probably in the public_html folder). Rename that file to forums.php.
  • Find your cmps_index.php file and rename it index.php.
  • Log in to your vb admin panel; and go to: vbulletin options -> Forums Home Page Options -> Script Name for Forum Home Page and enter "forums"
  • now in the vb admin panel go to: vba CMPS -> Main Options -> CMPS URL and enter "/index.php"

That should do it I think.

Cheers,
Ian

Code:
http://www.teachmetheway.com/cmps_index.php
I dont know where or how to edit this page. I ended up "adding a new page thru the vba admin panel and using it as homepage
Code:
http://www.teachmetheway.com/cmps_index.php?pg=forums

OK looking at your page... you need to add a module to the center column of your homepage. vba cmps -> edit pages -> homepage

ahhhh ok

So what do you want on your homepage?

Maybe you can remove your forums from integration and start over.

You mean a template module? Add that module to the center column.

Ok So I pretty much need to edit the home page (take the forums off of it) and add the template module I want for the homepage?

Then add another page for the forums and do the intergration to get the forums on correct?

If you want the CMPS to become your homepage then you need to follow those original instructions about renaming your vBulletin index.php file. Note there's another version of those instructions here under the 'Running vBa CMPS In The Same Folder as vBulletin' section.
