Default Quick question about invisible directories

Can a directory be created, but set to inactive? In order words, the directory cannot be seen from the Links homepage but if the end-user had the URL they could reach it. Is such a feature implemented in this script? Thanks.

In addition, can I selectively choose which directories users can submit links to and which ones they cannot?

Currently there's not an easy way to "hide" a directory.
There is an option called 'open for links' when adding/editing a directory which if set to 'no' will not allow users to submit links to that directory from the user side.
