Latest Threads with pagination or simplified News module only showing titles

I need something that is a blend of the News Archive with pagination and the Recent Threads module.

Basically I want a list of threads, say 30 or so, and then a link at the bottom to the next 30, and so on and so forth, just like the news archive module.

I assume this can either be achieved by adding pagination to the recent threads php file or stripping down the news archive files so that they only show the Title and date posted below it, making the title then link.

Anyone feel like giving this a shot? Can send a little money your way for the job.
