Module and custom page question

ok, lets see if i can explain this.
I want to have a module on CMPS homepage which will pickup the info from a custom page.

page:
The custom page should have the navbar so that users can go back to the forums, CP etc. It sud have text as well as image.

Module:
module should show image on the left and the text...(or a few words) on the right.

I know that the module tempelate is available here. but thats no enough to do what I want to do.

any suggestions guys?

Also, I have another question - if I create/edit tempelate then I have to do that change for all skins too. Is there a way to make the change once so that all the skins will get the updated tempelate?

I may be missing the point in your first question, but I think you can just use the 'Page Template' option when creating the page.

As for changing templates, you really should have one 'master' style and have every one of your other styles as a child of that one. That way you only have to make changes in one style.

I got your reply for the 2nd question on style tempelates.

As for the first one, how can I make the module to link with the new page?
- Do I use www.myfourum.com/inde.php?page=newpage???

Also, is there a module avialable which will pick up the text and image from this "newpage" and show me the image as thumbnail on the left hand side and text on right. Also the module will let me configure how many words or letters it will show beside the pic/thumbnail.
