Everytime I click the "save" button in VBadvance, I get the "HTTP 403 Forbidden Error". Is this error on my website host or the VBadvance not being installed right?
Everything in ABadvance shows up. But I can not save anything. Please, help. Tony |

I went to my browser help area and I came up with this.
"You have typed a basic web address (for example, www.example.com), but the website does not have a default webpage (such as index.htm or default.html). Additionally, the website does not allow directory listing, which allows you to view files in a web folder. " I think this is my problem, because I do not have an "index.html". I pointed my domain name to my VB "index.php". How can I get this to work with out having to have an html file? I want my home page to be the forum index page. Tony |

Kinda confused about what you mean. Save as in actually save the files to your server during an install or a put using FTP? Save as in save a file using VBadvanced (I'm going to assume Dynamics) to your server? A little clearer explanation of your problem would help allot.
I'm going to assume that this is concerning your food site, if so the CMPS seems to be working fine. What is the exact url of the problem?

Hi Guys, first off I want to thank you guys for taking your time to try to help me.
Yes, I know I did not say a lot of info on here about my problem. This problem is not on my food site. That is working fine. It is on a whole new VB forum and host. Only area I am having a problem on saving at is adding new modules and pages and editing the default "Hompage" you get when you first install VBadvance. I can not even go in on the default "Homepage" and just remove a module on the left. I click the box to remove and then I click "Save". Then I get the error I am talking about in this topic. In big words it says "The website declined to show this webpage". I will play around some more. I am going to try to reinstall VBadvance again and see what happens. Tony |

OK, here is the deal. I went to my food site and went into my VBadvance program to see if would do the same thing there. It did the same thing there too.
I am finding out that it has something to do with the ".htaccess" file. Every time I just type this word any where on my browser, my Norton Antivirus program pops up and says high risk! I went ahead and deleted that ".htaccess" file on my NEW server and now my Front Page 2003 publisher will not upload my files to my server and I still have the same problem with me not able to save any of my edits for my VBadvance pages and modules. I could not find this ".htaccess" file on my old food site server. maybe that was why I could not use my front page 2003 publisher to upload file to my server. I had to do the ftp upload thing to make it work with my front page. It is time for bed. Not happy. Tony |

Ok Guys, here is an update on this problem.
Brian, I do have access to my php.ini file. I was not sure if you were telling me that code was already in my php.ini and I had to just change it to what you had. I tried to find it, but i could not. So I just went ahead and copied that code and paste it in there. It did not work. When I ran that testfile program, I got page 1 - page - 499. It ended on 499 and not 498. Anyway, here is an update on what I did. I turn off my friendly http error message on my internet explorer. When I did this, I got this error message when I click my save button. "Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/admincp/vba_cmps_admin.php on this server." Bottom line is, it is my HOST!! Because I even went back to my old forum on my old server that was working just fine and I got this same error there too. So it was not my new install of VB forum and VBadvance program on my new website (server). I just got off the phone with my host and they said they will call me back. I did not like that answer. We will see if they will call back. I feel it has something to do with a new protecting program they put in for the php in the data base. They never said they did this, but I got an advertisement saying this when I entered my control panel on my server. This is not word for word. They were talking about making sure we delete our extra forums (php) in our data bases so that those robotes out there will not hack in. This was not word for word, but it was something about this. I am thinking they put some kind of protection program in to try to control it or something. Tony |

Quote:
As for the forbidden message, check the permissions on your admincp/vba_cmps_admin.php file and make sure it's set to 755. If that doesn't help, try 777. If that still doesn't help, hopefully your host will call back soon. |

Brian, thank you for offering your help. To let you know, I was right about it being my host.
My host never called back, but they did put a ticket together for this problem. Over night, I got a repy from this ticket to try it again to see if they fix the problem. I tried it again and it work! They never did say in the ticket what they fix. Again, thanks for the suggestion to try to fix the problem. You did every thing you could think of on your side. But it turn out to be my host. I would also like to thank PhilMcKrackon and Zachery for what they said on here too. Thank you guys. Happy Tony
