Hey Spotty its all in the documentation.

Add this:

cybchatbox

To Portal Output Global Variables in the vBadvanced main settings. My working list for this input field is:

cybchatbox
custom_singlelinks
custom_droplinks
custom_droplinks_cat

To have ChatBox enabled on vBa CMPS:
1. Hack options - Add "adv_index" to "Show ChatBox on" setting field (values in this field should be separated by commas) > Save
2. vBa CMPS Default Settings - add "cybchatbox" to "Portal Output Global Variables" field (values in this field should be separated by carriage return) > Save
3. [Optional] Template "adv_portal" - add "$cybchatbox" to line where you want ChatBox to appear (for example below "$navbar") > Save

Can you please post what the problem was? That way others might be able to test your solution.

This step should work guys.

In your cyb-chatbox settings, look for this setting:-

Show ChatBox on (comma separated THIS_SCRIPT locations)
Blank to show on all pages (not recommended because of server load)

You can enter adv_index there to have it show on vba page.

Hi all
after much reading and trial and error

hope this helps as i just installed it

1st you must install the chat box
assuming that you already done that

in vba CMPS -> Default settings
click on main options to edit

then were it says Portal Output Global Variables

type "cybchatbox" with out the "

this will enable the cyb-chatbox in vbulletins options

Next goto vbulletin options and it will be bottom of the list
cyb-chatbox
click it to edit it

then look for show chatbox on

this is where you will type index, boards, forums or where ever you want it to show the chatbox they must be seperated with a comma

if you leave it blank then it will show on all pages of your forum
This is not recommended because of server load

make sure you click save

hope this helps

Nope, it still says loading, I had it figured out, like I had to add something like $vboptions[bburl]/ to the templates and it worked, but I had a template problem after reverting with 3.7.5 and now I need to redo it. I cant find where I found out how to do it.

Now, THAT's what I call a solution!!!

It's pretty funny because last week, I gave Cyb himself an admin access to my AdminCP area, and he couldn't solve the problem. He told me that I probably have some issue with the path (server related). I thought if the chatbox creator himself can't solve my problem... then who do I expect to solve?

CarterMarkham's post has solved it. Thanks alot CarterMarkham!

Regards,
James Argo

Adding BBURL should solve problems for some people, not for all. People using several domains or different vB settings may then have loading problems and bad links.

Such problems usually appears when vBaCMPS and forums are not placed in the same dir. For better compatibility you can move vBa CMPS to forum root dir, then update it's settings. This will fix problems with some other hacks too. Usually there is no good reason anyway to have it in different folders?

Well, I got this chatbox installed and working on my system, but there's one problem. I don't want it on my forums pages. I only want it showing on the front page of my vbadvanced. Once I place it on my vbadvanced page, it doesn't work. I had the "loading" error mention before. I added the [bburl] stuff as mention, and the "loading" went away, but if I try to post is sits there and hangs at "posting message"

I have two sites. One site, it's working perfectly, so I know I set it up properly. The other website it doesn't work in vbadvanced. Both sites are hosted by the same host....
