Brian:

Hi!

I have tried umpteen attempts to describe the location for my dynamics/attach directory.

I currently have vBadvanced CMPS installed successfully as I have replaced the Vbulletin index with the cmps index and see the main page just fine.

But I am not seeing the links page or the dynamics page show up. When I go to look for them as per example:

http:\\www.theoleconservative.org\dynamics or http:\\www.dynamics.theoleconservative.org.

I do not know if I need to create a subdomain for dynamics and then load in the program. So I need an answer to this basic question too! Originally I just created a folder at root level as I saw no instructions stating other wise.

My dynamics directory resides on the same level as my subdomain directories for websites that I have been working on. This is the same level as my forum directory sits on. It too has a subdomain for it. I have been using SD at the base root as every thing else is in subdirectory of my root. The public visible websites I have created a subdomain.

Does links and dynamics need subdomains? Or because they work with Vbulletin a subdomain for each is not needed?

Do you have a page by page installation guide that I could follow to mimic a set up in this section and others?

I get confused with some of the semantics used to describe a path as I feel that the instructions assume I know more than I do.

In the Title, URL's, and Terms [Add Setting] section of Dynamics:

I thought that this would work for URL for attachement path:

/home/theoleconservative.org/public_html/dynamics/attach

What is missing. Please I dont get it.

I thought that there was a default page that I would see?

Thanks

TC Topps

I have changed *.config.php.new. But when editing config.php what is the forum path exactly.

Thanks for your help.

Looks like your $forumpath variable in your dyna_config.php file is just incorrect.

There's no need for vBa Dynamics to be on a sub-domain in your case, though you can certainly set up a sub-domain if you would like.

Default That did not fix it.

Brian;

I did the forumpath.php path location. That did not do it. Same message.

I changed the path location inside the config.php file to in the dynamics dyna_config.php to:

forumpath = '/home/theoleco/public_html/tocforums';

?>

I also changed the cmps index.file to index.php and added the line to forum path in an edit to:

/home/theoleco/public_html/tocforums

So now what do you suggest! I will check this no again and report back!

Thanks

Well, I just looked at index for what was cmps_index.php. I needed to edit forum path. I used forumpath.php. Went great.

I was somehow looking at a dyna_config.php.

When I should have been thinking cmps . I wish there was a more concrete setup for each program. CMPS, Dynamics, Links. It would help us who are starting enjoy and get into learning the program rather than just trying to unlock the door.

Well, I was able to get it saved. But when I went to open up the page at the home page. It went to a blank page with this in brower:

http://www.theoleconservative.org/to...ageid=cmpstest

Blank browser page:

So, I do not know??

Thanks

Errr, where'd that long URL come from? This should be the correct URL:
http://www.theoleconservative.org/to...ageid=cmpstest

If the URL you posted was automatically generated from the CMPS, then it looks like some of your settings are incorrect. Go to Admin CP => vBa CMPS => Default Settings => Main Options and make sure 'CMPS URL' is set to '/index.php' and 'Page Variable' is set to 'pageid'.
