I have a database for ingame character profiles for my forum users....
Right now, they can create new characters, edit their characters just fine. I cannot find a way to allow them to DELETE their own characters however.... I have edited their user rights for the category to do so.... what am i missing? |

As long as the 'Can Edit Own Entries' permission setting is enabled for a usergroup then it's members should see the 'Delete Entry' option within the 'Entry Tools' drop-down menu.

I'll triple check to confirm, but I believe this has been enabled to YES... So members CAN and HAVE BEEN able to edit their own entries.... Outside of the standard YES/NO for this user group setting is there a different area?
Also, my users might be members of more than one user group.... I assume if ANY of those usergroups enables this feature they should be GRANTED the access accordingly. Please confirm..... |

Ok, to troubleshoot this I've simplified it...and I am baffled.
I have 2 user groups... 1) Registered User 2) Custom Usergroup I figured out that the REGISTERED USER group seems to override whatever I place in the CUSTOM USERGROUP for the DELETION rights. But with the CUSTOM USERGROUP I can override what is in the REGISTERED USERGROUP for creating new records...hehe odd. Right now however, in BOTH usergroups I have the rights set to "NO" for modifying the creation date... or creating a new record in someone elses name. in both USERGROUPS I have it marked as NO... yet, the users that are members of BOTH usergroups are still getting rights to do these things. Am I missing something here? |

Are you sure those members are not also part of a usergroup that has those permissions enabled? Also double-check the 'Category Permissions' link in your Admin CP to make sure you do not have any custom permissions set at the category level as those will override the default permissions for any category that has custom permissions set.
