Default Permissions and usergroups

I have posted a question about this over at vbulletin.com but I wonder if this is related to the vBa CMPS.

When I create new usergroups, the users in those groups are unable to get past the "No permission" standard message. Even the front page of the CMPS is shut down to users in those groups.

The strange thing is that I use EXACTLY the same settings for the newg roups as I already have for my Registered Users default group, and I have also checked that the forums access is correct.

As soon as I move a test user from the new group to the default group access is restored - move the user back and it is lost.

I don't even know where to start debugging this...can ANYONE give me an idea as to where the problem might be?

Admin CP => vBa CMPS => Edit Pages => Default / Homepage

Did you set the permissions there to allow the new group to access the page?

Duh...*slapping myself*

Thanks Brian. If I'd only realized the issue was with the CMPS permissions and not vB permissions I'd have saved about 6 hours of frustrating, pointless work.

I simply LOVE vBa CMPS. Looking forward to getting my gallery up and running, too. Keep up your good work.

LOL! Don't worry, I'm sure you're not the first person to ask this question.

Brian,

If one of my users is stuck in the COPPA group awaiting moderation they can not view the front page even with the permisions set so they have access.
How do I fix this? I want them to be able to see the front page no matter what.

Do COPPA users have access to your forums?

Yes. They can get to the forums just not the front page.

I'm not entirely sure why you would be having a problem then. If you'd like to submit a support ticket though I'll be glad to take a look.
