When I go to edit a BBCode module it seems to strip out allot of formatting and if HTML is posted it removes the entire thing.
The issue seems to be a little bit of a random one since some people can edit them without the layout breaking, but when myself and some others try it butchers the text and removes any HTML. The issue should not be browser related, myself and the other have tried: IE FireFox Opera Chrome And none of them works for us, but they all seem to work for the others. The problem only happens when we try to Edit a module, but when we create a new one it works fine. Below is a good example of code that works perfect when the module is created, but if the module is edited (nothing changed, just saved) it removes the code entirely from the content box. PHP Code:
If needed we have a test website running all the same plugins, I have tried to turn them all off but it seems its not related to those. If you want I can grant access to the test site if you want to look at the issue yourself and see if you can find anything out. Other info: vB v. 4.1.5 pl1 vBa CMPS v. 4.1.2 Thanks! |

make sure your Java is up to date on your browser, maybe? I have not had a problem like this since Brain released v4.1.1, but I have not upgraded to vB 4.1.5 or CMPS 4.1.2 yet either...

I am running the latest Java so its not that.
I have tried all the "basic" steps of figuring out what he issue is, clearing cache, other browsers, restarting the comp, other user accounts. But none of that works so I post here in hopes that the dev might want to look at it, I could provide him full access to our dev server to look at it also. |

You might try opening a Support Ticket, if no one on the forums has a good answer

I'm having the same issue. Once I create a module its OK. But, if I go in to edit anything, even add permissions for a new user group created, it takes the code and changes it, or removes it completely. I end up having to delete that module, create a new one, to even get it to work. Anyone have any idea of how to fix this. Modules are the site, without being able to edit them when needed, then you basically have to create each module over again.

Hey guys, sorry for the delay, I was trying to look into this but I haven't found what the problem is exactly yet. I suspect its something to do with 4.1.4/5
Are you all running 4.1.5/4.1.4? |

I am using 4.1.5 with the issue.
If Brian wants to he could look on our dev site and see if he can figure out what the issue is. |

Any news on this, still can't edit modules without it changing the codes, or removing it all together and having to rebuild it completely...

At the moment I am using templates for everything, but other admins will not be able to change those since I am the only one with the permission so it would be nice if this was fixed, with the BBCode modules.

I am running vB 4.1.4 & CMPS v4.1.1 without problem. I have not yet upgraded to vB 4.1.5.
What version of CMPS are you using? |

Yeah, I meant the other guy (CrazyG) with the problem, sorry. Since you are already running the latest versions of both, I can't help much

Just wanting to bump this up again.
The problem is still there, and I have found no way of fixing it yet. BTW is it normal that the edit box looks all broken compared to the creating a new bbcode module? (The text box is just a plain box, with all the smilies tools, and other stuff just listed in a big mess below it) |

What version of the CMPS are you running? This should have been corrected in v4.1.2.

Just did a fresh install of 4.1.2 on vb4.1.8 and have this same problem. Sorry for bumping old post but wanted to see if anyone got this solved yet.
Actually found my problem which is two other items installed, vbshop and vbactivity/awards both by dbtech. Once disabled I was able to edit bbcode modules with no problems at all. Now to figure out why both are not playing nice with vBadvanced. Last edited by kyle; 12-05-2011 at 05:28 AM. Reason: Found problem. |
