Default Installing new games.

Can you please explain how to install a new game?

Please be detailed, as many of us have not used this Arcade system before.

I understand the games are .swf but I don't think we can just use any old .swf game right? Am I correct in assuming that they have to be created specifically for this product?

  1. Upload all files in the zip to your forumroot/admincp/games folder. If there is folder structure including other subfolders, upload those as well with the same structure. You can avoid uploading gameinfo.txt as it is not needed.
  2. Make sure that you CHMOD the following folders to 0777 for this import:
    - forumroot/admincp/games
    - forumroot/images/arcade
    - forumroot/games
  3. Make sure the following files are in your forumroot/admincp/games folder:
    - gamename.swf
    - gamename1.gif
    - gamename2.gif
    - gamename.game.php
    - index.html
  4. In AdminCP, click on v3 Arcade -> Game Tools.
  5. Under "v3 Arcade - Mass Game Import", click on Start.
  6. Once complete, you should see "Installed: GAMENAME."
  7. Done!

Everytime I have gone to install the games available here, I go to a blank screen and that is it. Nothing ever gets installed.

What gives?

Default why do i get this?

blazin1, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Blazin1, have you created a free license for your account and then verified it?

The steps may change in the future, but for now...

1) At the top of the v3A forum home (http://www.v3arcade.com/forums) you should see two buttons, one of which is Edit License. Edit License is also available from the "Support" drop-down menu selection at the top of the page.

2) After you enter your free license information you will be taken back to the v3A forum home page. Next to the Edit License button will be a Verify License button.

That's it.

Thanks, everybody, for providing some good feedback in these forums.

One of the things I am learning is that I need to update the various instructions to mention that the arcade.php should be viewable to guests (at least temporarily) during the license URL check. It seems that several people have had the same problem. If several people are having the same problem then it means that we (your faithful v3A staff members) need to make some changes.

I've successfully installed games from v3arcade.com, however, i was not able to install games that are in the zip file (v3 Arcade 1.0.8\files\games)?

i uploaded game files and images to admin\games and import in admin panel but no games were installed

any ideas?

The games that are in the zip file are automatically installed for you when you upload all of the files to your server and import the product-v3arcade.xml file.

Once your free license is verified, you use the "Download Games" link in the Products & Services menu to download games that their creators had given permission to be used with v3 Arcade. Above & beyond that, all we can recommend is to try a Google search.
