Using If to separate entrybit based off fields

I can't get it to work but would it be poissible to lets say

<vb:if condition="$entry['field1'] == 'stuff'">

entrybit code here (Shows only bits where field1 is equal to stuff

</vb:if>

<br />
<br />

<vb:if condition="$entry['field1'] == 'stuff2'">

entrybit code here (Shows only bits where field1 is equal to stuff2)

</vb:if>

Basically I have trying to show items based of field values in different tables but on the same page. When I use the above code the first one works, but I cant get it to execute twice and show the second.

Thoughts?
