Default Show Forums in Module

Ive created a new page and im looking for the best way to show all the forums in 1 module.

My plan is to have news and recent threads in the center column on the front page then have the whole center column a forums module on the 2nd page.

Looked though here and googled and havnt found anything, was thinking of copying the news module and setting it to the forums root folder.

But as im new to CMPS I thought id ask if this is the right direction to take.

Thanks
