Hi All
My 7yr old daughter asked me a few weeks ago if she could have her own www site after seeing me, her Mum and her Brother all on their vBB sites she asked could she have one. So I have set on eup for her... spoilt eh! Anyway, we're not live on it yet but I wanted some feedback prior to removing the test data and then adding some rlevant content for her. Any comments... www.heatherlou.com

Thanks for the feedback. I look at the header in FF and it looks OK... which browser do you see this in? Edit: Damn... I see it in IE... thanks for pointing this out to me. I have no idea as to why this is happening but will stry to sort it. Cheers.

John, although some people might say the opposite, I'm not 7 years old so I'm not quite tuned to the world like a child that age is but I do feel the look is too adult.
Something a bit bigger, bolder, and colorful might be better than that vbstyles skin. Brian, she might become your youngest customer

I don't have any friends or relatives that age so I do not know any good sites you can look at.
Maybe you can start at CartoonNetworkHQ.com? |

Sure, but I can't leech their images. Where can I get cartoonie type images to play with? Anyone know?

Don't know, sorry =(
I suggested CN because there are a lot of sub-sites for each show (like samurai jack, or the powerpuff girls) and you can inspire yourself in the color schemes and cartoon like letter types. |

I think it's wonderful what you are doing with the site.
I first thought it was a site for a band, but wow...something seems to be offsetting the page though, as i have to navigate left to right to see the whole page. It could be the header, but im not sure. |

Perhaps I'm being paranoid or something but....
When this site goes live I think you will want to make access to it password protected so that the only people who can get to it are friends & family who have been given the password. Unless you lock the site down and moderate every single post you'll never know when an innoncent post might reveal more than you want it to. For example, from the site name & the first page alone a person would know your daughter's name, that she'll be in a school play playing a particular character, her brother's name, age and some his hobbies. By reading the actual forums a person can also find what nick-name the family calls her. To make it worse a simple lookup on the domain name reveals what can be assumed to be her father's name along with a contact phone number & address. Please, please, please think about this site very carefully. |
