Default add forum to index page

Hi

im still deciding wether to install vbadvanced.

the only reason i want to use it is,
to add 2 dynamic blocks above the forum..

so i want the vbulletin forum to still be the index page, but i also want two dynamic blocks between the nav bar, and the forum

is this possible with vbadvanced?

Yes. Humm... you will need to hack it though because no modules are thought to be used there.

The real question is what are the contents in the dynamic blocks?

It's pretty straightforward to wrap CMPS around the forum. From what you're saying it sounds like you'd just create the 2 dynamic blocks and have them be full-width in the center and then place the forums full-width under that instead of using sidebars like most others do.

No, I didn't say that.
CMPS is thought to be used in a 1 to 3 columns layout. You can use two columns by not placing content on the third column and the same goes for a 1 column layout.
What you want to do, is placing content according to a layout that doesn't fit the one used by CMPS, just like Tom described, and to do this, you will need to hack the portal template.

There are a few hacks on vb.org thought to place content there and maybe they fit your purposes better, like Tom said, it all depends on what you want to display on those blocks.

Hacking the template shouldn't be necessary... Just follow the instructions in the users manual to integrate it with your forum index, then add your modules in the center column and deactivate the left and right column.
