Default Multiple front pages

As I understand it, I can create different pages within the CMPS though the 'add page' feature.

It would appear these could be substituted for multiple front pages; so I could have specific content for specific pages.

How exactly do I get that set up?

obviously, the default works fine...but if I added a second page, do I set it up under a sub-domain? or do I just add some syntax to the url?

and if so, what?

Sorry if it seems a daft question, but I feel some piece of this is so simple its eluding me.

when you are making a page you define such a thing called the "Page identifier".
that will be the extension to the syntax of URL. for example

http://www.your-site.com/index.php?page=games

or

http://www.your-site.com/cmps_index.php?page=gallery

here games and gallery are the page identifiers

*Borrowed this from the user's manual I'm working on*

Now that you have created your new page, all that is left to do is create a link to it. In most cases, the link to your page would look something like this:

http://yoursite.com/index.php?page=pagename

index.php in the above link may be different if you have not changed the default name of your 'cmps_index.php' file, or have named it something other than index.php.

page in the above link may be a different variable if you have changed your 'Page Variable' setting (listed in your Admin CP in the 'Default Settings' section of your 'vBa CMPS' options). If you have changed this setting, then you simply replace 'page' in the URL to what you have changed this setting to.

pagename in the above link should be replaced with the value you entered for the 'Page Identifier' setting when the page was created.

Thanks, that is precisely the information I sought.
